WHY WE NEED TO READ
Reading the Bible is important because it draws us closer to God. God reveals Himself to us in a variety of ways including the world around us. But the primary way He reveals Himself to us is through His Word. The more you read the Bible, the better you get to know God. The better you know God, the more you want to communicate with Him and follow Him.
The Bible is also our guide to daily living. David describes God's Word as "a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalm 119:105, ESV). Whatever path you're on, the Bible can show you the right steps to take. The Bible provides wisdom, commandments and the reasons for those commandments, and the consequences for not following them.
The more you read the Bible, the better your behavior gets. All the childish behavior you may have had before becomes a thing of the past, and now you want to share your faith and disciple others. The strengthens and encourages you in your day to day living. When you are stressed out, struggling, down, frustrated, discouraged, angry, or suffering, the Bible provides that encouragement and strength needed to get through.
